Stakeholders, including the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), and 215 host communities, praise PINL’s dynamic community engagement and robust security.
Stakeholders Cheer Production Surge
Ojukaye Flag-Amachree, ONSA’s Energy Security Director, lauds PINL’s success. Represented by Young Harry Amachree in Port Harcourt, he said, “PINL nails its presidential mandate. Collaboration drives these wins.” He stressed vandalism hurts Nigeria’s treasury and urged collective action.
NNPCL’s Engr. Akponine Omojevwe reported higher oil output. “Tender receipts show massive gains from two years ago,” he said. He pushed for deeper community teamwork. Dr. Kennedy West of MOSIEND endorsed PINL, demanding a contract review to boost community prosperity.
Community Ties Fuel Success
PINL’s strength lies in engaging Abia, Rivers, Imo, and other communities. Dr. Akpos Mezeh, PINL’s Community Relations Consultant, said, “We meet regularly to assess progress and unite against vandalism.” Social investments tackle oil theft’s root causes. “We’ve restored damaged environments, cut TNP infractions to near-zero, and lifted investor confidence,” Mezeh added.
PINL ensures worker safety and timely payments. Hon. Ingo Iwowari, a former Bayelsa lawmaker, hailed PINL’s open communication. “It prevents conflict. Other firms should follow,” she said. PINL’s model curbs restiveness.
Security Crackdowns and Community Pleas
ONSA has prosecuted over 100 vandals, with some jailed. Flag-Amachree urged communities to report culprits. Mezeh noted challenges like community-vandal collusion. King Philip Osaro Obele of Eleme begged ONSA to address pollution. “Oil and water contamination here is dire,” he said.
